Old Bangkok Inn Boutique Hotel

Old Bangkok Inn Hotel is a modern Thai hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The modern style features Thai touches, with all rooms named after Thai birds and their names including: Narung (Narada), Somnuk (Swallow), Tai (Crocodile), Ong (Green Parrot), Tai (Scorpion), Uk (Monkey), Uk (Catfish) and Uk (Octopus).

The hotel’s original building was opened in 1889 by Ram Lakha, a 19th-century entrepreneur and a contemporary of King Chulalongkorn.

Sukhumvit Road has been named after him.

In 1938 the hotel expanded by converting a number of smaller buildings around it.

The hotel continued to prosper through the 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s when its reputation was still based on the luxury of its rooms and the city-centre location of its location.

In the 1970s the hotel saw an influx of North Americans who wanted to holiday in Thailand.

Old Bangkok Inn Hotel is located on the shores of the Mekong River, near Bangkok’s main airport and one of the country’s busiest transport hubs.

While it is one of the country’s oldest hotels, it is being renovated to house a high-speed and low-cost service.

The Inn offers a low entry fee of around $85 a night and is offering free wifi access after entering the hotel and on to the road.

What Our Guests Say:

We stayed at the inn for 5 days and cannot praise this beautiful location, the owner, the atmosphere, the personal touch and the whole staff enough! It was an absolute pleasure to explore the old part of BKK from here. Kuhn Jason is full of love and passion for his Inn and his city and can give you the best advise for your daily adventures. We also did a night bike ride with him..so interesting!!

Every day when we came back to the room, a little present and a personal note awaited us.. i never had that before! Loved it and felt like home.

My husband and I chose to stay at the Old Capital Bike Inn due to the excellent on-line reviews; we like small, individual establishments, rather than the ubiquitous, international chain-style hotels. It was, as we expected, full of charm, and really well located within walking distance of most of the sights, whilst retaining a ‘local’ feel. Freshly cooked breakfasts were a particular highlight, and staff were able to recommend local restaurants for dinner, all of which were excellent.

My boyfriend and I stayed in March 2019 and loved everything about this inn. The breakfast every morning was phenomenal, the bike tour was one of our favorite things we did, and the recommendations and helpfulness of everyone made our visit to Bangkok so much better. I won’t stay anywhere else in any visit and will recommend to all my family and friends. Don’t give it a second thought, book here
